Profile of Headland Holdings Team

Brian O’Farrell has been involved in the property industry for nearly thirty years, having commenced his professional career in auctioneering and valuation in 1976 as principal of O’Farrell Cleere, Estate Agents and Valuers.

His first involvement in property development was in 1982 with a mixed-use development in Clontarf. He has developed particular skills in the area of site assembly. In 1998 he purchased Malahide Boat Yard, assembled adjoining sites and was granted planning permission for Ireland’s first private residential marina development.   This was sold on and developed by Gannon Homes. The 150,000 sq. ft New Street Mall, a mixed retail and office development in Malahide was also developed in 1988.
Brian has been involved in a number of joint ventures to procure developments such as:

• M1 Business Park in Balbriggan
• Milverton Integrated Tourist Development in Skerries
• Residential Apartment Development in Portmarnock
• Cromcastle Masterplan Development
Hazel Jones acts as consultant Development Director to HPHL. She was previously Director of Planning with Treasury Holding. She was also a Director of Rathdown Light Rail and negotiated a PPP with government to extend the Luas Light Rail System from Sandyford to Cherrywood.

Hazel also spent 20 years in the public sector working with various Local Authorities. Prior to leaving the public sector she was Senior Transportation Planner with the Dublin Transportation Office.

Seamus O’Connell, Financial Controller has more than 30 years experience in the aviation sector following training as an accountant with Deloitte & Touché. He joined Headland in 2004.

Willie has had over twenty five years experience as a senior planning officer with local authorities in the Dublin Region. He was appointed Dublin Planning Officer with responsibility for County Dublin in 1986 and subsequently County Planning Officer for Dun Laoghaire Rathdown in 1993.
From 2001 to 2004 Willie was Chief Executive of Rathdown Light Rail, a company set-up by a consortium of developers to negotiate a public private partnership to extend the light rail system, in association with the development of an area adjoining the suburbs of Dublin City.
